To prevent these problems we have a lot of methods for skincare by regularly washing face, exfoliating, taking care of skin regularly, as well as, avoiding a lot of food can also prevent extra production of sebum that led too much oily skin.
So, that's why here we talk about various food items that you should avoid or limit to prevent excess production of oil. Because with a better skincare routine, we also need a eating style that would also prevent the excess production of oil.
1. Sugar
Eating sugar in excess amount can influence insulin production, which cause excess production of oil from sebaceous gland, that cause acne production. In that case, try to avoid food that contain added sugar in it, also limit sugar or try to replace with some fruits that are good for skin.
2. Dairy Products
Dairy products can also cause overproduction of oil on surface of your skin, because high content of hormones in dairy products can clog skin pores that could make skin more oily that led to bursting of acne. Instead of dairy products you can choose alternative options like almond or soy milk.
3. Red Meat
Sodium level in red meat is very high and it can lead to water retention, which further cause swelling and greasiness and make your skin look too oily. Avoid eating red meats such as beef, sausages, bacon, and lamb as these meats can be very high in saturated fat can lead to inflammation and it will also lead to oily skin.
Eat food items such as salmon, tuna soy beans, and more that are anti-inflammatory foods.
4. Fried Foods
These are the type of food that I think almost everybody would know, that fried foods containing too much oil are not good for skin and would obviously cause increase in oil production, as well as, they cause also cause inflammation, another reason of excess oil on face.
5. More Spicy food
Eating too much spicy food also activates sebaceous glands, which produce sebum/oil on your skin. These types of food contain acidic lycopenes that can irritate your skin, and also trigger acne prone skin. You should avoid spices such as Chilis, that create too much heat in your body, makes your skin more oily and cause acne prone skin.
6. Too much salt
Excess salt can also cause oily skin, as salt in excess amount can cause dehydration , water retention, and swelling, which can lead to increase in oil levels because of dehydration skin produce more oil to keep hydrating our skin. So, try to limit your salt consumption if you are eating in excess amount, also highly processed food contain too much salt that can also lead to these problems.
7. Refined Carbohydrate
Food containing refined carbohydrate can increase insulin level, and also IGF-1 a substance that stimulate the growth of oil, and there combination will led to excess production of oil, makes your skin more oily and greasy. Eat less processed grains or whole wheat.
8. Peanut Butter
You also need to avoid consuming this delicious snack if you want a controlled production of oil from your sebaceous gland, because peanut butter contain large amount of fat which cause inflammation and breakouts in skin.
