When you have to travel long distance, whether it be a oversea flight trip or long train journey, even when you are on a family reunion, it's not so easy to maintain the charm and brightness of your skin. When you travel oversea there are many factors which cause dull skin, including long and tiring trips, climate changes, water quality and change in your daily routine, all these factors may impact your skin and you see dryness, breakouts and dullness on your skin which nobody likes. Most of us when travel to oversea destinations try to maintain a glow and freshness on our face, and I personally want this to look good in pictures I have to click in those beautiful destinations. So here we are with some simple and genius tips to avoid those pesky skin issues during our trips.
Factors that effect our skin during trips
Plane Air: When you take a flight the pressurized air in the plane sucks all the moisture from your face and leave your skin looking dull and dehydrated.
Climate Changes: When you travel to different place, weather won't remain same and may not suit your body which cause breakouts or dry patches to occur, as well as, climate change can also cause old or new skin condition to pop-up unexpectedly.
Change in diet and routine: When you went to a vacation your daily diet routine also changes which also have an impact on your skin. When we travel our food mainly consist of unhealthy fat and high in sugar or salt, these highly processed foods can also lead to extra oily skin which further led to breakouts.
Here are some tips to take care of your skin on trips
1. Stay Hydrated
Try to drink enough water as much as you can to stay hydrated, as it can be the best way to counter drying humidity levels you'll experience in flight. As you'll know that drinking enough water can make your skin look more younger and refreshing for a long time. And can also be a easy and simple way to maintain glow of your skin during the long trips.
2. Keep your hands off your face
While travelling it's also important to keep a watch on how much you are touching your face with your hands, because your hands can pick any kind of bacteria and can transfer it to your face, which may led to any kind of skin problem. So, it's important to maintain hygiene while travelling as it's not easy to avoid pollution, dust or any type of bacteria throughout the trips, so it's better to avoid it in every possible way.
3. Moisturize
When you have to travel a long distance your skin may not get enough water all the time and due to different factors like climate change, air pressure in flight and more, may cause dehydration. So, you need to apply intense moisturizer night before you are going to fly. It will increase hydration of your skin and keep your skin moisturized throughout the journey..
4. Blot Out Oily skin
People having oily skin may also face a lot of skin problems, as various factors may cause extra oil production which led to acne breakouts. It may also happen if you don't get any any cleansing facility throughout the journey. So, to control your skin from getting too much oil on it while travelling, try to bring blotting papers and dab the "T" zone as often as necessary, so that, you'll be able to dab up the shine and excess oil without stripping the moisture.
5. Try to stick to cleansing routine if possible
To maintain glow of your skin throughout the journey, it would be better to stick to the cleansing routine to remove the extra oil and dirt from the face. So, don't forget to take a mild cleanser, so that, after cleansing it will also retain moisture, to avoid skin from getting too much dry. If you don't want too much stress on your beautiful skin during vacation, try to wash your face daily with a mild cleanser twice everyday.
6. Get Enough Sleep
When you are on vacation or you have to travel long distance or maybe both, try to get enough sleep as much as possible. Usually it's hard to sleep when you are on vacation or while travelling because of change in time zones, daily routine, climate changes and a lot more other factors. In that case, try your best to get enough sleep because lack of sleep and stress during travel can also effect your skin. You can taking sleeping pills to fall asleep or you can try different ways if you are in flight, like bringing accessories like noise blocking headphones and comfortable sleep mask. It may provide you a bit more comfort, so that, you fall asleep in flight.
7. Use ice for puffy eyes
Long journey can also cause puffy eyes, to reduce these under eye puffiness you can put crushed ice in a washcloth and apply it under eye to reduce puffiness of your eyes and also makes you feel immediately fresher. You can also try to avoid spending too much time on screen or reading paperback novel, as these factors could also effects your eye and you feel too much water and redness in your eye.
8. Take you beauty products
It would be best to take all essential beauty products with you while travelling, if possible. As, it may be the best way to keep you skin glowing and healthy throughout the journey and those products may also be more expensive abord, if you plan to buy them from your vacation spot. So, it would be better if you take all the essential beauty products with you
9. Avoid using hotel skincare products
Using those lotions and soaps stocked in your hotel bathroom may also be irritating for your skin. There are high chances of getting side effects from those products, if your skin is sensitive. These products contain fragrance and preservatives that can further cause travel related dry skin problems.
